LOS ANGELES - California health officials on Tuesday issued rules for theme parks that make it more likely that California's largest theme park, California Adventure, won't reopen anytime soon. The California Attractions and Parks Association released a statement Monday calling on California Governor Gavin Newsom to issue guidelines that would allow theme parks to reopen in the state. Other large parks around the world have been operating safely for months and there is no rational reason to believe they can't do so in California, "said the association's executive director, Dr. David L. Lichtman. California Department of Health spokesman Mark Schreiber said Governor Newsom's administration has not used science or data to inform the state about the theme park's reopening plans.

California's amusement parks are poised to reopen responsibly, but visiting the attractions won't look like a cop out. As the recent reopening of California Adventure in San Diego, California's largest theme park, and other theme parks across the state, proves, the California Attractions and Parks Association and the California Department of Health declare that no California theme park is "ready" to "responsibly reopen."

Parking at Universal is relatively easy, with the same two main car parks shared by Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal CityWalk, as well as Universal's other theme parks. Keep a pass for the sidewalks in the City and Universal handy, and it's easy to get it when you're not in the park. If you don't have to drive to your Universal destination, there are plenty of parking options in the area, such as a multi-storey car park in front of the Universal Hotel. Speaking of traditional theme park souvenirs, you can also buy more practical souvenirs such as clothing and artwork.
