Hi everyone and thanks for stoping by.My ex ( since 1998 ) retired here from the Air Force.I'm orginally from Tennessee and move back there after the divorce but came back because 3 of my 4 girls live here and I wanted to see my grandkids grow up and to just be around their families. I love music,almost all kinds.It depends on the mood I'm in as to which kind I listen to but kinda lean towards Country and Blues right now but I go back and forth,like I said it depends on what kind of mood I'm in.Oh,did I mention I love geting a cottage/cabin or Rv on the lake/river and drowning a few worms..lol I don't care if it's fishing from the banks or boat.I haven't did much salt water fishing but an willing to give it a try.I love weekend getaways or how ever long we decide on staying.I also enjoy BBQ's with family and/or friends,chili cook-offs or just hanging out at home with that special person. I had throat cancer 7 years ago,I had my 5 year check up 2 years ago and I'm still cancer free!! The doctor told me he had never had a patient to have cancer come back after 5 years, that sounds good to me...LOL I didn't have to have surgery,thank God but my voice is raspy,you want hear me singing..lol and you want hear me yelling at you because I can't..lol I wouldn't anyways,I'm not the typed of person to scream or yell if we disagree on anything.I would sit down and discuss things with you and try to work things out.When I went through the battle with cancer ( it was in the 4th stage and the doctors gave me a 20% chance of living )it taught me to appreciate the smaller things in life and not to take anything for granted.I am more comfortable in casual dress but will dress up for the occasion if it arises.I think the best way to describe me is a country girl who grew up in the city. Some things i don't like are liers, (who does ? )people that think they know everything,big braggers and people that are always late and people that are very materialistic. I don't like men who doesn't have clean hygiene and guys that doesn't brush there teeth or hair if they have any.In other words I don't like slobs.Oh yes,I have a fear of snakes and heights.( flying doesn't bother me though ) I think I have rambled on long enough.If any of this interest you let me know,if not happy hunting. I feel as though I'm supposed to say something cliché about being complex or being deep. But I've come to believe that we are all bodies of X amount of water with the largest difference being surface area. Spread too thin and too shallow you end up with a swamp. Too deep,you become a well. You lose variety and it becomes a struggle for someone to receive anything meaningful from you.
I like to think myself a happy medium A lake deep enough for mystery but wide enough to capture the warmth of the sun... Of course like any lake there is an area or two where rednecks have have thrown their beer bottles and styrofoam cups... adding a hint of the damage that society sometimes inflicts to the otherwise serene setting. Oh my, what to say in a public forum about myself. I am just like everyone else in most respects - I am trying to make the most of this life. Applying the philosophy that at the end of the day we will regret more the things we didn't do than the things we did, I am going against my natural instincts and ventunring onto a dating site. I am on the quiet side, but I would not say that I am shy. I am not, and do not want to be the life of any party, but I am personable and friendly in social situations. I work as a research associate for a large testing company and will be presenting two papers at professional conferences in 2010. I am a little proud of that. Forty years old and divorced with 3 kids not living with me but part of my life, run now if that is a problem. I am looking for friends first and see what develops from there. Hmmm self-summary.... Well first off I really dislike writing about myself in these little boxes, but since it is required I can wing it. Im a pretty big dork... I enjoy making people laugh. I am pretty easy going and get along with people easily.

I am 58 and single. My real name is Thomas Goodwin. I have mental abilities and mental disabilities(I do not drive) that make me unique. My focus is on spiritual development and am intensely creative and innovative in this area. I am not that good in areas outside of the spiritual area. I am really good at pushing the edge when it comes to the spiritual and want to help bring a higher level of spirituality to this world that is badly in need of improvement in this area, so as to handle the complex an intense problems of this highly technological age we live in now.

I AM NOT DOING WELL ON THIS SITE and believe I am not attracting the right people my way. I know I have strong limitations that I was born with related to how my mind works and have always done better when partnered with someone who really appreciates what I can do, rather than just noticing what I am not that able to do. I have had relationships in the past with people who really valued the areas that I am extremely capable. I can do a lot in this world, but not without the help of others.

I tend not to be the best at making first moves, but tend to be open to connecting with people to various degrees and for various reasons. I actually place a lot of value on people who approach me first. I do appreciate people who are not quick to dismiss me. I feel like I have always done my best based on my circumstances, and that my best days are ahead of me in terms of being successful. I can be very helpful to people who are struggling and need someone to uplift them and can often provide suggestions that may be useful to them.

I am good to vent on, since I can handle rough emotions very well. My spiritual training techniques were designed with the intent of strengthening my ability to handle really intense and difficult emotions really well, so that I could relate well and empathize with those really struggling in life, and also be able to connect well with the highly emotionally charged issues and problems in this world and the people affected by them.

I am FRIENDLIER than my match questions I answered may indicate, I have had lots of friends at times in my life where I had access to groups or organizations that I could be part of. I had lots of friends at the Lake Grapevine Runners and Walkers before I was forced to move to Converse, TX. due to circumstances.

I work at a job I enjoy and I've got a teenager whom I'm actually still getting along with. In the evenings I usually spend time reading, painting, or knitting. When I've got some real free time I like to go to the archery range or the golf course.

I am a laid-back, funny, and introverted (don't read as shy- I'm just not outgoing. I can carry a conversation though!) car nut. I love to travel, but don't often get a chance. I love racing, but don't encourage street racing. I also believe in treating a lady like a lady- as long as I'm around, I try to make sure chivalry is too. I'm one of six kids, one of four girls, and I'm the fourth child born. My siblings and I are all pretty tight, even though we live all over Texas now. We are all educated, and so far, I'm the fourth one to graduate from one of the top universities in Texas. The other two are still attending. We are all different extremes, and almost have nothing in common beyond family. :)

My extreme is definitely my love and passion for animals all living things, from the grass to trees, and slugs to elephants. I don't have many animals, and the animals I do have kind of do their own thing. lol. My love isn't an obsession, it is my motivation, my soul, my passion, my life. I realized when I was a child that I cannot save them all, and death is part of life. I have to remind myself every time I feel guilty for killing an insect that didn't need to die. lol..

I'm not religious, but spiritual. My father was raised in a cult, and my mother was raised Catholic, but my family was not raised in a church. My mother taught me to worship the life around me, to feel the energy, to be sensitive to it, and be thankful for every second.

I really enjoy being outside. New surroundings do not go unappreciated, and neither does familiar. Obviously, I really like being swept away in nature, but I'm no "survival-woman." lol.. Although, I like to think I could sleep in a tree if need-be. hahaha... hell, maybe I could live there...hmm......

I love manual labor. I'm a pretty physical person, I like to work hard with a goal in mind.

I have a sick love for awkward situations and genuinely embarrassing stories. lol! :D I laugh alot...almost all the time.

I'm an Army Brat so I grew up all over the place, but claim Texas as my home. Family comes first above all else (except the Man upstairs). I like movies, music, laughing, and being around friends. I have a quirky sense of humor and love to have a good time. I'm very laid back and easy to get along with- so I've been told. I'm a dedicated and loyal friend who puts others before myself- even when I shouldn't.

Well, I guess I'm a pretty wholesome, good, well rounded person. I enjoy hanging out with friends, and I don't drink excessivley or make horrible descions on a regular basis. My friends really describe me as a girl next door type, I'm usually pretty sweet and hard to upset. I'm more then capable of holding a decent conversation and that's something that's really important to me I mean I'm not expecting you to make me bust out a dictionary but I prefer when people can speak well lol, if that makes sense. (: I'm also a fairly modest person and very humble. I get shy easily and blush alot , although I've been told that's one of the more appealing qualities about my personality. I like to laugh and smile and it's important to me to make other people laugh and to be around people who don't walk around with stick up their butts.

I was born and raised in Texas, married in 1950 and lived in several States due to job transfers. Raised a daughter and three sons and attended different colleges part time in three states. Did office work when I got a chance and after first husband died, I got a real estate license and still wanted to move from Texas. I moved to Mo., then Mi. then to Utah where I married again. We moved to Cibolo in 2006 and we really enjoy the snowless winters. I do not work at a job, just looking for a volunteer position to feel like I am doing something to improve my feelings and needs more than a caregiver out of necessity.

I moved to Cibolo, Texas almost a year ago and I really can't believe how fast time is going. Honesty is one of my best qualities, and is something that I expect back from all of the people who surround me on daily basis. I'm very confident in my own skin. Friendly, flirt, out-going and funny are just a couple of words that would describe my personality. I don't judge people by their looks, race or status.
